Become a member volunteer
We have openings for people who want to preserve our railroad heritage. As a member volunteer of the Iowa Railroad Historical Society, you can be a part of one of the most popular historical museums in the midwest. Become an engineer, conductor, brakeman, help restore equipment in the shop, rebuild track, work in the gift shop, snack bar, or sell tickets. There are lots of FUN things to do as a Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad & Museum volunteer.
Becoming a member of the Iowa Railroad Historical Society entitles you to: one round trip coach pass on any regularly scheduled Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad excursion train, the society newsletter, the opportunity to vote on society issues, and the chance to buy tickets to special event trains before they go on sale to the general public.
All spike level donors receive a certificate of appreciation, and are recognized with a plaque in the depot.
The Iowa Railroad Historical Society is a non-profit tax-exempt corporation. Your membership and spike donation are tax deductible.
