POLICIES
CONCERNING REFUNDS, CANCELLATIONS, ETC.
Handling Fee: All ticket orders made via
the Internet will incur a 12% non-refundable handling fee.
Phone orders will incur a non-refundable 25 cent per ticket handling fee.
Obtaining your tickets: Train tickets (other than
special event tickets) are held at will call at the depot, and are to be picked-up at the ticket window upon your arrival.
Please present your confirmation when picking-up tickets.
Requests for cancellations and/or changes to these orders must be
received in our office at least seven (7) days prior to the day
of your train ride. Cancellation policies are strictly enforced.
Special event tickets
(i.e., Santa Express™, Pumpkin Express, Day Out With
Thomas™,
pizza trains) are final
sales - no refunds or exchanges. Unless otherwise noted, special event tickets ordered up to two
weeks
in advance will be mailed to you. Special event tickets ordered
less than two weeks in advance will be held in will call at the
depot. Present your confirmation at the ticket window when
picking-up your tickets.
Valley View reservations: Please
keep in mind when making reservations for our Valley View car that it
is an open-air car, meaning that you will be exposed to the elements.
If there is inclement weather on the day of your trip, no refunds
or adjustments can be made. You may, however, ride in our
coach-class accommodations.
Coach-class seating: Coach-class excursion
trains and special event trains are "general admission"
seating (first come, first served). Come early to ensure that
your group can be seated together. Reserved seating is not available.
Assigned seating: On dinner, dessert, and
picnic trains, seating is assigned. When ordering, indicate if
you would like to be seated with another party.
Trains operate rain
or shine. If we cancel a train, gift cards will be issued - no
refunds. The decision to run is based upon conditions at the
railroad. If the train runs, NO refunds or adjustments will be
made. If the decision is made to cancel a train, that information will be posted on the home page of our website.
Equipment substitutions: The Iowa Railroad
Historical Society and Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad reserve
the right to substitute motive power and/or equipment.
IOWA RAILROAD MUSEUM GIFT SHOP
Shipping: Orders are
generally shipped within five business days. Merchandise is
shipped via USPS Priority Mail. If we are unable to fulfill your
order (out of stock, discontinued sale items, etc.), we will
contact you via e-mail or daytime phone number provided. Damage must be
reported within seven days of receipt.
Sale items: Sale items are
a
FINAL SALE - NO refunds or exchanges.
Returns: Full refunds
are
issued for products returned within 30 days of purchase. Must be
in original, new condition. Shipping is NOT refundable. Please
call 1-800-626-0319 to confirm that you are returning
merchandise.
GIFT CARDS
We cannot
replace
lost or stolen gift cards. Gift cards have
no
expiration date.
